How to Make a Christmas Fairy Garden

Just like you, fairies love to celebrate Christmas. It’s a time of joy and of giving, both things that fairies enjoy!

If you’re only just starting off in the fairy garden world (lucky you!) then we’d suggest you start with our special Christmas Fairy Garden Kit. We release a limited edition Christmas Fairy Garden Kit every year and for 2016 there are three versions available (Christmas Door/Christmas Tree/ Christmas Mail Box) covering all the options you need to start the perfect Christmas fairy garden!

Christmas Fairy Garden in a pot - 2013

Although of course, you’ll also need somewhere to put it. You can use a normal flowerpot (we shared a great tutorial here), a windowsill flower pot, an old wheelbarrow, old kitchen pots or teapots, wooden crates, or even make a terrarium style fairy garden. Of course, you can also use a section of your normal garden – perhaps under a special tree or by a little pond?

Mini Pink Christmas Tree Set

Now that you have your fairy garden set up (or if you already had one ready) it’s time to add some extra special Christmas touches!

Of course, it isn’t Christmas without a Christmas tree. We have a great range at Garden Sparkle – add a touch of bright colour with the Pink Christmas Trees or some extra festive charm with our Deluxe Christmas Tree. Whichever you choose, I’m sure the fairies will love it!

Of course you will need miniature gifts and it’s fun to decorate with a garland of mini fairy lights.

Then it’s time to add some festive friends for your fairies! Our regular reindeer are direct descendants of an ancient race of reindeer from Lapland and will add a magical charm to your garden (however they haven’t been willing to leave the great North this year). Instead we have Lucky Reindeer sets available!

The adorable Candy Cane Table Set is the perfect match for any Christmas garden. Plus, don’t forget to remind Santa to visit your fairies with our Santa Stop Here Sign. Of course there should

Miniature Santa Ornament - Christmas Fairy Garden

Speaking of Santa, he’s the perfect addition to a fairy garden too! Our Miniature Santa Claus carries a sack of toys and Christmas gifts over his shoulder and holds a festive wreath in one hand. Just the thing to add some jolly to your garden!

Needless to say, you don’t need to take care of all of the decorating yourself. Meet Fairy Holly our most festive Cicely Mary Barker Flower Fairy.

She is a spirited wee lass who loves to zip around at Christmas assisting with all manner of things…decorating, baking, making sure everyone is happy and well.  She’ll help you make your fairy garden look more festive than ever!

Speaking of special festive fairies, our Christmas Fairy would love to come and play! She brings the perfect mix of daintiness and Christmas joy.

For extra fairy magic in your garden there’s a lot of special touches you can add – poinsettia flowers add a colourful touch of Christmas, a piece of mirror or glass (inserted safely) makes a great frozen lake, string of pieces of Styrofoam look fantastic on trees as popcorn strings, while pieces of pillow stuffing make perfect fake snow!

The Candy Cottage For Your Fairy Garden

And for that extra, extra special touch of Christmas magic you cannot go past our Candy Cottage. What else says a magical Christmas than a special chocolate candy house! It evens comes with it’s own property deed!

We wish you all the best with your Christmas Fairy Gardening!

I can’t wait to see what you create! Share your fairy gardening projects with us and be featured in our ‘Customer Gardens Hall of Fame’ by emailing photos and a description through to [email protected] or share directly onto our Facebook page.

Blessings & Sparkles,

Fairy Kate xxx
